Truth is stranger than fiction. And the story of high school and college phenom basketball player Jack “the Shot” Foley strains belief. But author Mark Epstein was there to witness it all, and he tells Foley’s remarkable story with passion and flare. The words literally jump off the page with the same sure aim as Foley’s patented jump shot. But Epstein has more in mind than just a sports bio. Foley was a great player, but he was a great man too. And in between the breathless action are life lessons that will make an impression on any reader, sports fan or not. I highly recommend this book!

I attended many of the basketball games described by the author Mark Epstein in his fine tribute to the top high school basketball player from the Worcester area Jack Foley. Jack “the Shot” had an unusual shooting style and was a prolific scorer. I would have loved to see Foley play in the three-point era of today.
While I was somewhat aware of Jack's post basketball life, Epstein's book provided a nice, respectful summary of the life of a unique, special man. Good job, "Pathfinder"!

This book is of interest to fans of both basketball and human nature. I happen to be both. I read many things I already knew as I am from Massachusetts, but I think I also learned how to be a better human. Buy this book!
